THERM-A-REST Valve Replacement.

On my trip home from Overland Expo our dog Triss decided to modify the valve on my Therm-A-Rest pad. She was bored and the pad was available for her to chew on. Once her modifications were done the valve was shot and the pad would no longer hold air.

Once home I checked the company website to see if they sold new valves and found that they did. ( I guess when you have a good design there’s no need to change it as the valves seems to be the same for all Therm-A-Rest pads. ) I was able to locate and order the valve off Amazon.  I had the valve in hand within a few days.

Replacement of the valve was very easy. I was able to remove the old valve by grabbing it and working it back-and-forth to break it free, the valve then pulled right out. I then put a coating of the supplied adhesive around the barbed end of the new valve. The new valve then pushed right into the mattress and I cleaned the little bit of excess glue off and the repair was done. Not bad, valve replacement done in less than 5 minutes.
